Vacancy: Cafe Team Leader-Chef / Cooking

Staglands is looking for someone with a passion for food and proven ability to run a team in a kitchen.  Applicants must have some commercial cooking experience.

You will be part of a team of four team leaders-two full time and two part time who are responsible for all aspects of operating the cafe, looking after the ticket office and ensuring all our customers are given a warm, friendly welcome. This role will include ensuring compliance with the food safety plan and liaising with the Council for this and our liquor licence.  Also cooking for any functions at Staglands which may include the occasionally evening work.

Although your main focus will be in the kitchen everyone at Staglands gets to meet and greet our customers and you will need to really enjoy making them feel welcome and getting the team working together to do every thing we can to make each visit special.

Experience costing menus and menu design would be great but you will need good computer skills. Training café team members is also an important part of this role.

The hours are Tue-Sat 9.00am till 5.00pm and will include public holidays.

You will need NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa plus a full NZ driver’s license.  Anyone looking for short term work need not apply.

If you think this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. Please email a covering letter outlining why you are perfect for the role plus your CV with two referees to sarah@staglands.co.nz.

We will acknowledge we have received your application but will only contact applicants we wish to interview.
